Pope Francis received the MKPK delegation in a private audience

Pope Francis received the delegation of the Hungarian Catholic Bishops’ Conference in a private audience on 2 October 2023.

Card. Péter Erdő, primate of Hungary, archbishop of Esztergom-Budapest, András Veres, bishop of Győr, president of the HCBC, metropolitan Fülöp Kocsis, archbishop of Hajdúdorog, and Tamás Tóth, general secretary of the HCBC, the general coordinator of the Holy Father’s visit to Hungary in April, expressed their gratitude to Pope Francis on behalf of the Hungarian Catholic Church, the bishops, the clergy and the faithful for his three-day apostolic journey, his teaching and the graces received.

The delegation presented the Holy Father with a unique, white, leather-bound book, made in a single copy for the Holy Father, containing the Pope’s speeches delivered in Hungary in five languages (Italian, English, German, Spanish and Hungarian). The Pope’s speeches in Budapest have already been published in Hungarian, but the Hungarian Catholic Bishops’ Conference has commissioned the texts of the speeches to be made available in print in four other languages.
