Aid provided by Caritas Hungary during the Ukrainian War - Report – 18-03-22

- Third aid to Transcarpathia 100 blankets, 1000 kg durable food (flour, rice, beans, oil, sugar, pasta), 45 mattresses, 50 bed sheets, 70 kg baby food, bandages, 100 boxes of diapers, washing gel, dishwashing liquid, disinfectant (4,000,000 HUF)

- 8 smaller aids in mini vans directly sent to Beregszász (Берегове) and Mezőkaszony (Косонь), Munkács (Мукачево) (durable food, blankets, mattrasses) (total value around 7,000,000 HUF)

- Caritas Base in Barabás
o    Catering for the newcomers (water, sandwiches, tea, biscuits, hot soup etc.)
o    Transporting them to the requested places: railway stations, larger settlements
o    Organizing accommodation for them
o    Shelter with 40 beds
o    First aid (volunteer doctors)
o    Travel package for transport (water, sandwiches, tea, biscuits, tissue, etc.)
o    Number of employees: 6 / day
o    Number of volunteers: 12 / day
o    Number of registered refugees in a week: 2783 (2030 adults, 753 children)

- Caritas Base at Budapest-Keleti Railway Station
o    Catering for the newcomers (water, sandwiches, tea, biscuits, hot soup etc.)
o    Transporting them to the requested places: railway stations, larger settlements
o    Organizing accommodation for them (together with the disaster response team)
o    Number of employees: 4 / day
o    Number of volunteers: 20 / day
o    Number of refugees in a week: 32000

- Provide and organize accommodation and meals for refugees by the Caritas organizations of the dioceses (hundreds of refugees per day in different places)
