As members of the Hungarian Catholic Bishops’ Conference, we express our common concern about the war in Ukraine. Our pain is also increased by the fact that our Hungarian brothers and sisters living in Ukraine are also affected by the war. We sympathise with and share the pain of all those who are suffering in any way as a result of this armed conflict.

Driven by our responsibility towards the ones committed to our care, taking into account the opinion of epidemic experts, the restrictions recently introduced due to the third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic and the special characteristics of our Church, we reinforce our earlier measures and make the following provisions until revoked.

We are happy to hear that the pandemic situation is improving; therefore – based on the opinion of epidemic experts, the high number of vaccinated people and the easing of earlier restrictions enacted due to the COVID-19 pandemic – taking into account the special characteristics of our Church, we modify our earlier measures and take the following steps starting from 4 July 2021
