30 October József Mindszenty is released inFelsőpetény and announces the recommencement of his activityas Primate of the country. He suspends 11 leaders of the Priests' PeaceMovement and orders them to leave the capital immediately.
1 November Cardinal Mindszenty delivers a speech in which hedescribes the situation as fight for freedom.
