Day of Prayer for Humanity

Our world is facing a great danger at the moment. The growing spread of the COVID-19 pandemic threatens the lives and livelihood of millions of people. We should not forget to seek refuge in God as we face this situation.

In compliance with the appeal by Pope Francis on 3 May and the initiative of the Higher Committee of Human Fraternity, the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue proposes Thursday, 14 May 2020 as a Day of Prayer to overcome the pandemic caused by coronavirus and invites believers of all religions and people of goodwill to participate. The Ecumenical Council of Churches in Hungary joins this initiative and we invite our brothers and sisters to spiritually unite in prayer, fasting and works of charity on this day.

We shall turn with our prayers to God, the Almighty to help us  overcome this pandemic and to restore security, stability, and health in our world.
